I’ve been lucky to test many high end skin creams designed to keep the years at bay. I figured it might start getting confusing so I wanted to have a blog post where I discuss which ones I like best and why. We all have different skin concerns so while one may be completely wrong for MY skin, it might be the perfect product for you!
Turo Review
I had to get to my filming location yesterday and it was over an hour away and I don’t have a car! I find it’s easy to walk or bike most of the time and I catch a ride with Lyft or Uber when I need to. I’m saving close to $500 a month this way! But every once in a while, the need to rent a car comes up.
Of course, I can always just choose to buy a car at a great price. I’ve been suggested this option plenty of times, and even been pointed towards car invoice pricing websites that can give me information on any car I would want to buy. But, I never did think that car ownership is for me-more power to car owners though! It’s just not my thing, I think. I’m ok with renting or hailing cabs for now.
I got rid of my last credit card ten years ago – which is only ever an issue when it comes time to rent a car. I will often have to pay over $80 for the daily rental of a car that would otherwise be $20, because I stick to debit cards! Plus, they usually hit me with a $250 deposit – which while fully refundable, DOES take money out of your checking account possibly at time when you just can’t. It’s crazy to pay $80 just to earn $125 but that’s the world now-a days! Except now we have all these wonderful apps making new things possible. Like renting a car from a total stranger via the Turo app. Here is my recent experience…

I had the wonderful benefit of Unemployment Insurance to cover my expenses while I learned to shoot and edit my own videos. I quickly discovered that having a good youtube channel is just not enough to gain attention, so used help from The Marketing Heaven to build a following. Being a youtuber is so much more than a job though! Making these videos showing all I have learned in my 25 years in the movie business has been so emotional
how to earn money on youtube and cathartic for me! But the question remains, can I earn a living from it? I don’t know the answer to that yet. This is my first month with no safety net. This is why I paired my overhead down as low as I can – so that I can make it through these lean times. SHAMELESS PLUG SINCE IT’S THE END OF THE MONTH: See that little “i” in the upper right hand corner? I have Fan Funding enabled. If you like my videos and the message of positivity I am trying to spread to women my age, you can contribute! One dollar once a month…..Thank you!!!!!

I’m no longer going to call it a fashion fail if I am busy working from home and don’t get dressed up. I’m human. I’m allowed “jammie days”. I don’t have to beat myself up over it. Monday was a busy day right here at home making YouTube videos. This was one of them. Every once in a while my arthritis acts up and this was one of those days. When you can’t walk and you can’t sit (it’s my hips) there’s nothing to do but take some ibuprofen and go be horizontal. At least I can work in my bed!!!!

Technically, also a fashion fail. I made this video wearing a comfy, strapless “wear around the house/pool” sorta dress. I have been resistant to wearing red lipstick, and decided it was high time to give it another go. The NYX Natural liner gave the red a deeper brownish tint that I wasn’t crazy about though it did stay on my lips all day. Then, my new bicycle arrived which you can check out in this video.

Week number three of my RutBusting and I started out strong! The beautiful spring weather had me all excited to bust out those pretty, girly spring looks – I’ve been pairing Keds with dresses my whole life and it’s exciting for me that a look I have always done is in right now! Talk about the mountain coming to Mohammed…..

I am forcing myself to dress in something other than yoga pants and t-shirts but relying primarily on pieces I already own, because I’m on the total starving artist budget right now. Staying fashion forward with minimal shopping. I’m “shopping my own closet” and trying out new trends using what I already own and here’s what I learned this week:

Which isn’t a problem until you forget how to dress in anything else! I miss fashion… but I’ve also gotten really used to being comfortable… and it’s a hard thing to change. I have to relearn how to have style – but I’m not ready to give up comfort!
Getting Naked, Going Gray, and How To Get Out of a Rut
I recently did an fun interview with comedian Jason Hadley. I was super pleased with the interview because it was a spur of the moment thing so Jason didn’t have time to do research on me. Inevitably, when I have some sort of an interview, the interviewer does research, discovers that I did nudity 20 years ago and that’s all we talk about for the entire interview. And it gets really boring for me. I’ve been having the same conversation for two decades. Yes, I am comfortable with my body. I am so comfortable with my body, so accepting of what is, flaws and all – that I am willing to appear nude on film while performing as an actor. But I like to think that’s not the most interesting thing about me. I like to think I offer the world a whole lot more than just the fact that I’m comfortable with my body. We all have bodies. It’s our minds and hearts that make us interesting.
